Palsatech Ltd starts the Mineral Exploration Service Center in Veitsiluoto in Kemi inside Stora Enso paper mill area. Service Center is a one-stop-shop in mineral exploration business which offers a wide range of services all the way from planning to storing samples. All the services are found under one roof.
”We offer our customers modern facilities for research and sample handling including drill core sawing service. We also offer our customers storage space for more than 5 000 pallets. Furthermore, there is geological interpretation and reporting and geotechnical measurements available. All this is now under one roof”, says the Managing Director of Palsatech Ltd Mika Alasuutari.
The Service Center is located on paper mill area which is secured all day and night. This enables safe and cost-effective storage of samples.
”Due to the wide range of services in the Mineral Exploration Service Center we can reduce our customers’ needs for investments. Earlier companies spent their valuable research resources on real properties and equipment and the use of staff was inefficient. With the help of our new service concept we can solve these problems. We always take the customer´s point of view into consideration and aim to streamline and make the research more efficient – with less risk and investments”, Alasuutari continues.

Palsatech Ltd is a company established in 2013 which offers unique and comprehensive service package for the needs of mineral exploration, mining and rock engineering. Earlier data acquisition demanded expensive and risky investments, but not anymore. Instead of investments Palsatech´s high-quality services are available for reasonable and cost-effective price.
Since 2016, Palsatech Ltd. has been designing and implementing a new generation of drill core logging table modules. The design of the tables is the company's own production, manufacturing is partly implemented under subcontracting.
"I have worked in the core logging processing almost 20 years, and several times I've been thinking about what partitions should be developed that it would serve to the users in the best possible way. Safety and health runs the idea of the center, because work ergonomics is major risk of sample process. In addition, we wanted notice flexible use of workspace , saving space and making work more efficient "says Mika Alasuutari, Managing Director of the company.
The company has implemented several projects and is currently ongoing large units for LKAB's mines in Malmberg and Kiruna in Sweden.

Palsatech and TerraCore have joined forces in order to offer the possibility to study core samples with modern hyperspectral imaging techniques.
‘We discussed with TerraCore and together decided to co-operate as this is a clear win-win situation for all. Meaning the two companies and all our clients. We already have a significant amount of drillcore in our storage facilities, which then can be easily transferred to our research facility to perform the imaging. First projects have already been done and hopefully there is a lot more to come. The technique has been known for a while and finally we have it available in Kemi. We think this will be a part of standard drill core logging procedure in the future’, says Hannu Ahola, Chief Geologist of Palsatech.
