Palsatech’s career stories series introduces Palsatech employees and tells about their background and work tasks.
Bence Balogh has worked for Palsatech since 2018, and during that time, he has been able to work in various positions in Finland and on international projects.
His work at Palsatech began in drill core logging after which he moved on to work as a mine geologist in Kemi mine. At times Balogh also worked in an exploration project doing drill core logging and drilling supervising.
Since 2020 Balogh has worked principally in Palsatech’s international projects. In the international projects, his responsibilities have included the planning of the sampling and the management of the fieldwork.
Balogh tells that the previous field project went well, and now the focus is on planning new projects and developing international operations.
Working at Palsatech
Balogh graduated from the University of Turku with a master’s degree in geology, before which he did a bachelor’s degree in Romania. Before joining Palsatech, he worked as a geologist on a Cu-exploration project in Romania and as a trainee at a diamond drilling company in Hungary.
In his spare time, Balogh’s varied hobbies include hiking, swimming, and occasionally Thai boxing. He tells that, at Palsatech, he enjoys the opportunities the company offers to work on various tasks and projects.
”Palsatech has made it possible to work in various tasks without changing the workplace. Professional experience is accumulating faster than in other companies. Here we always have several projects going on, so if a certain task starts to get too familiar, you can look for new challenges by moving on to another project.”
As a company, Palsatech has continued to grow rapidly since the year of foundation, which has evoked positive feelings from the geologist’s perspective. Balogh also praises the company’s work culture and operating methods.
”Palsatech seems to grow constantly. Many of my old study buddies have come to work for this company, which increases the feeling of commonality. Working here is permissive and confidential. The employees are listened to, and their wishes are taken seriously. The work is enjoyable, and all kinds of stress are minimized. All in all, a pretty ideal workplace.”
