High-Speed Synchrotron-XRD Analysis Now Integrated into PalsaCenter Workflows

7.10.2026

Palsatech Oy and DeterMin Oy are partnering to bring modern synchrotron-XRD-based mineral analysis easily within reach of customers.

The Finnish company DeterMin Oy brings synchrotron-based mineral analysis to the mining industry on an industrial scale. You can find more information about DeterMin on their website and LinkedIn page.

The companies are initiating a partnership that integrates DeterMin’s synchrotron-XRD analysis into the PalsaCenter workflow. The particle accelerator technology is based on high-performance synchrotron radiation, which scans samples significantly faster and more accurately than standard laboratory XRD. This enables the identification of all mineral phases and fine-grained details—even from ore types that have previously been difficult to analyze reliably.

Through this partnership, this top-tier mineralogical data becomes available to customers without complex logistics, regardless of project size. Customers can deliver their samples to any PalsaCenter, where Palsatech processes the samples and delivers them to DeterMin for analysis. After analysis, the completed samples can seamlessly return to PalsaCenter for long-term storage. This “baggage drop” model operates internationally, making the service accessible from anywhere in the world.

“The collaboration with Palsatech responds exceptionally well above all to our customers’ needs. The sample volumes we analyze are large, and when Palsatech handles sample storage and logistics, collecting them is easy for our customers,” comments Joonas Pajunen, Chief Operating Officer of DeterMin Oy.

The integration of the service directly supports Palsatech’s goal of offering its customers even more comprehensive support for the efficient execution of projects of all sizes, while further strengthening the company’s role as the strongest partner in the Nordic mining and exploration industry.
