LKAB Logging Table Delivery – Optimizing the Core Logging Process in the Largest Core Handling Facility in the Nordics with Palsatech Solutions
At the beginning of the year, we delivered nearly 300 meters of core logging tables to our long-time client, LKAB, in Sweden. The project was executed as a turnkey solution, covering design, delivery, installation, and electrical work. Before delivery, we worked closely with the client to analyze their sample handling process and design a tailored solution to meet their specific needs. This ensured that the final setup would optimize the facility’s long-term efficiency and improve their core handling workflow.
The delivery included both standard and electrically adjustable logging tables. In this project, the electrically adjustable option was utilized as 4.4m long modules, installed at the end of every row of tables. Combining the adjustable logging table with the standard one offers an easier and safer option for lifting drill core boxes. This setup completely eliminated the need for manual lifting, significantly enhancing ergonomics and efficiency in the core logging process.
A key innovation in this project was the introduction of a new ball-bearing table, specifically designed to streamline core handling and transfer processes. This solution enables the efficient and safe movement of drill cores to analytical equipment while allowing free rotation and transfer of boxes between different table rows. Moving forward, this product will be increasingly applied in facilities where core boxes need to be transferred between logging tables, saw rooms, or analytical equipment over longer distances.
The entire delivery and installation process was highly praised for its smooth execution and professionalism. Our collaboration with the client was seamless from start to finish, and we are proud to provide solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and workflow optimization. Nordic mining companies like LKAB are setting an example for the global industry on how to improve the efficiency, safety, and ergonomics of geological logging and related processes.
“From my point of view but I think also from the others who have been involved we have been very happy with the installation work. One comment I heard which I agree with is that it has felt very well organized and professional from your side.” – Joel Krispinsson, Group Manager, LKAB Exploration
